The UK’s hydrogen industry takes a major leap forward with the launch of HYKIT, a joint venture between HYCAP, HydraB Group, and JCB. Set to begin production in 2025 from Oxfordshire, HYKIT will manufacture cutting-edge hydrogen distribution solutions, including mobile compressors, storage systems, and refuelling infrastructure.
The shift to low-carbon technologies is driving economic growth, with the UK’s net-zero economy expanding 9% in 2023 and set to grow 11% annually until 2030. Industries from transport to manufacturing are embracing innovation, creating jobs and boosting efficiency. Wrightbus has secured its largest deal ever, a £500 million agreement to supply 1,000+ zero-emission buses to Go-Ahead over the next three years. This milestone boosts UK manufacturing, safeguarding 500 jobs in Ballymena and supporting 1,500 more across the supply chain. The partnership will also fund training and apprenticeships, fostering a skilled workforce while accelerating the UK’s net-zero transition. With 1.13 million tonnes of CO₂ mitigated, this deal marks a major step in decarbonising public transport and strengthening the UK economy.
